ESCANABA — Michigan State University Extension is a resource for food safety training. Food safety educators will be hosting a live online webinar focusing on Pantry Food Safety — It’s Your Job. This is a two-part series. Part One of the series will cover the following topics why food safety in a food bank/pantry is important, handwashing, personal hygiene, cleaning and sanitizing, and receiving food product. Part Two will cover a continuation of receiving food product, storage of food product, re-packaging, and the Bill Emerson Good Samaritan Food Donation Law. This webinar is based on current food safety and Michigan Food Code as it relates to food banks/and food pantries. Participants are encouraged to ask their questions during the Q & A portion of the event.
