Learning Lean Office training being offered

ESCANABA — Northern Initiatives, Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center (MMTC), and Bay College are partnering to offer Distance Learning Lean Office Practitioner professional development training. This 16-hour, eight-session training requires a fee to participate. The topics covered include an introduction to Lean, value stream mapping, 5S, standard work, Kanban systems and problem solving. The online delivery is broken up into segments to maximize engagement over four weeks. Sessions will run on the following dates and in the central time zone:

– June 9, 8-10 a.m.

– June 11 from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

– June 16, 8-9 a.m. and 1-2 p.m.

– June 18, 8-9 a.m. and 1-2 p.m.

June 23, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.

June 25, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.

June 30, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.

July 2, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.

All sessions are activity-based, and participants will have the opportunity to immediately apply what they learn throughout the four weeks. Participation is key for a successful experience and businesses are encouraged to send employees in pairs. Managers, supervisors, project managers, office continuous improvement leads, office rapid improvement leads, or anyone that wants to improve process and procedures within an office environment would benefit from this training.
