Bay College cancels EMS conference
As a precautionary measure, due to the COVID-19 virus, the Bay College EMS Conference scheduled for March 20 and 21 on the Escanaba Campus has been cancelled. All registrants, vendors, and sponsors for the event will be contacted. At this time, there are no plans to reschedule the conference. Any questions can be directed to the Dean of Business, Technology, and Workforce Training office at 906-217-4081.
Schools closed until
April 5
Effective Monday, all of the state’s public and private schools will closed for three weeks through April 5 to combat the spread of a rising number of coronavirus cases.
Bay College extends spring break
Out of an abundance of caution, and to prevent and contain the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), Bay College is extending spring break two additional days, March 16 and 17, to transition most face-to-face classes to online instruction, college officials said in a press release.
Students can expect communication from their instructors by March 17, with classes resuming March 18. Students should check their Bay College email regularly. Although most face-to-face classes will be online, many labs, clinicals, trainings, and testing sessions will continue on campus with social distancing put into place.
Lenten mission, “Finding Happiness cancelled
The Lenten mission, “Finding Happiness,” scheduled for March 29 and 30 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Marquette, has been cancelled. This action coincides with recent measures taken by other local entities to restrict large gatherings of people to slow the spread of the Coronavirus and keep people safe. St. Michael Parish plans to reschedule the mission later.
