ESCANABA — The following individuals were recently sentenced in Delta County Circuit Court on unrelated charges.

Emma Jean Frederick, 61, of 11612 Fowler Road, Honor, Mich., pleaded guilty to one count of operating while intoxicated – third. She was sentenced to eight months in jail and credited for 175 days already served. Frederick will be placed on probation for 18 months and must complete 480 hours of community service. Frederick’s driver’s license was revoked. She was ordered to pay $1,588 in fines and costs.

Garren Todd Heller, 25, of 3390 St. Nicholas 31st Road, Rock, pleaded guilty to three counts of uttering and publishing. He was sentenced to 10 months in jail and credited 128 days already served. Heller will be placed on probation for three years. He was ordered to pay $1,404.

A Wisconsin man, charged with home invasion, was sentenced to six months in jail and three years probation in Delta County Circuit Court recently.

William Shalom Dorman, 25, of 2032 Russet Court, No. 2, Appleton, Wis., pleaded guilty to one count of home invasion – third degree.

According to Delta County Prosecutor’s Office, on March 8, 2019, at around 2 a.m. Escanaba Public Safety officers responded to a report of a man entering a home in the city of Escanaba.

Upon arrival, officers determined Dorman had entered the residence in a “rescue mission” to retrieve his infant son from the custody of his former significant other.

The prosecutor’s office added Dorman assaulted a man within the home when he entered it without permission.

Dorman was sentenced to six months in jail and credited for one day already served. He will be placed on probation for 36 months.

He was ordered to pay $408 in fines and costs.
