Compassionate Friends meeting change

ESCANABA — Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, the November meeting of the Bay de Noc Chapter of the compassionate Friends will be held on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held in the front Conference Room at Escanaba High School.

Compassionate Friends is a nonprofit self-help bereavement support organization for families that have experienced the death of a child. When a child dies, at any age, for any reason, the family suffers intense pain and may feel hopeless and isolated. The Compassionate friends provides highly personal comfort, hope and support to every family experiencing the death of a son or a daughter, a brother or a sister, or a grandchild, and helps others better assist the grieving family.

An international organization, The Compassionate Friends has more than 625 chapters in the United States with locations in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and Washington D.C. The nearest chapters to Escanaba is in Green Bay.

The meetings in Escanaba are held on the fourth Thursday monthly except for in November and December. Meetings are from 7-9 p.m. in the front Conference Room at Escanaba High School, 500 S. Lincoln Road.
