‘Wizard of Oz’ auditions planned

ESCANABA — Actors and actresses 17 years and older will have an opportunity to audition for available roles in Bay College’s musical theater adaptation of The Wizard of Oz on Sunday, Aug. 18, and Monday, Aug. 19, in the Besse Center Theater at 7 p.m. Adult auditions will consist of reading and acting out characters from the script, learning and singing a small portion of a song from the show as well as a short choreographed movement exercise on stage.

Youth auditions are scheduled for actors and actresses ages 8 to 16 for Saturday, Aug. 24, and Sunday, Aug., 25. Pre-registration is required for the youth auditions. For those between the ages of 8 and 16 wanting to audition, an online registration must be completed beforehand, which also includes time slots to choose from. Youth audition days and times will be confirmed via email to the parent or guardian.

All auditions are closed meaning parents or guardians will not be permitted in the theater during the audition process.

For those who are 17 years of age, pre-registration must be completed however, auditions will take place during adult auditions on Aug. 18 and Aug. 19.
