Free well water screening offered
GLADSTONE — The Delta Conservation District is offering a free private drinking water well screening for nitrates and nitrites utilizing a water quality test strip on Monday, July 29, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Any small clean jar works Only an ounce of water is needed. Run the water for 20 to 30 minutes before collecting the sample. Collect water at an untreated faucet (no water softeners or filters). it is best if samples are taken the day of testing.
Keep the sample cold until it is dropped off. Label the bottle clearly with your name and sampling date. Samples must be less than 48 hours old for a valid nitrate result. Participants will need to fill out a quick form when dropping off your sample.
Bring your samples to: USDA Service Center – Natural Resources Conservation Service/Delta Conservation District Office, 2003 Minneapolis Ave., Gladstone, MI 49837 (Building is located next to the Gladstone Subway)
