Big Bay de Noc has free school lunch

GARDEN — The Big Bay de Noc School District announced a change to its policy for serving meals to students under the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program beginning in the 2019-20 school year. This spring, the Big Bay de Noc School Board voted to implement the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) in order to provide free breakfast and lunch to all children at no cost and eliminate the collection of meal applications for free, reduced-price, and paid student meals. This means all students enrolled at Big Bay de Noc School will receive free breakfast and lunch through the School Breakfast Program and National School Lunch Program. This new approach reduces burdens for families and helps ensure that students receive nutritious meals, according to school officials.
