Our Community Fighting Cancer Secretary Cindy Liukkonen, along with Peggy Mortl, treasurer, and Dylan Bloniarz, vice president, presents a check for $11,000 to Cheri Severinsen, member of the Delta County Cancer Alliance. Our Community Fighting Cancer is a fund held by the Community Foundation For Delta County and was created by those who wanted more flexibility in where their cancer-fundraising efforts could go. Our Camping for Cancer fundraiser, which was held in June, was started to replace the old Relay for Life event. “We love the idea of being able to help our local chapter in the fight against cancer,” said Cindy Groleau, president of Our Community Fighting Cancer. The Delta County Cancer Alliance, which provides both financial as well as other types of assistance to cancer patients in the community, are very grateful for the wonderful financial support Our Community Fighting Cancer has given them.
