Wells Lions raffle winner
WELLS — Wells Lions Club’s raffle winner for week 15, dated Nov. 10, is Amanda Hansen of Escanaba, who received $100.
Escanaba Eagles breakfast
ESCANABA — Escanaba Eagles Aerie 1088 will serve breakfast from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at 608 Ludington St. Hunters can enjoy a hot breakfast before going out in the woods. Call 906-786-3451 after 4 p.m. for more information.
Rock Lions breakfast buffet
ROCK — The Rock Lions Club will host an all-you-can-eat Hunters Breakfast Buffet and Can Drive from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday at the club, 14454 M-35.
There is a fee. The club also asks those attending bring a non-perishable canned good. An American Legion raffle will take place at noon.
Rapid Readers book discussion

Menominee Dems meet Tuesday
MENOMINEE — The Menominee County Democrats will have their final meeting of the year Tuesday in the ground floor meeting room behind front desk at Spies Public Library, 940 First St.
Hors d’oeuvres and socializing will begin at 5 p.m. Central time. The meeting is from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Central. Discussion will include the December Holidays Members Party and Silent Auction fundraiser, food banks contributions, any upcoming events, volunteer opportunities and more.
While only paid members allowed to vote at meetings, the group welcomes community members eager to support democracy and the U.S. Constitution to attend and share. Attendees may feel free to bring friends and pick up a free copy of the Constitution.
The meeting can be attended via Zoom as well. People wishing to join by Zoom should send an email request to mendemssecretary@gmail.com for the link.
Band students to collect cans
ESCANABA — Escanaba High School Band students will be going door-to-door collecting 10-cent returnables on Saturday, Nov. 22. For pickup within the city limits, email to president@eskybandboosters.com. Additionally, returnables may be dropped off at the Escanaba High School’s north parking lot from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 22.
Genealogy group to meet
ESCANABA — The Delta County Genealogical Society will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24, in room 961 of the Joseph Heirman Building at Bay College. The public is invited to attend and encouraged to bring research problems and stories to discuss. For more information, call Richard Reiffers at 906-233-9261.
Gladstone Library Friends drive
GLADSTONE — The Friends of the Gladstone Library has started its 2025 Membership and Donation Drive, accepting monetary donations through Dec. 31.
Those interested can donate or sign up for a membership at the Gladstone Public Library, 300 S. 10th St. Membership dues are $10 for adults, $20 for families, $50 for patrons or $200 for lifetime.
All dues and donations go directly to the library to help support activities and programs for the community and children, such as story hours, summer reading programs, downloadable books and magazines, and library hours outside normal school day hours.
The Friends also host various events throughout the year, such as their Card/Game Parties in both June and November and a Candlelight Dinner in April.

Donations sought for book sale
ESCANABA — The Delta County League of Women Voters is looking for donations of books, audio books, DVDs and music CDs to be sold at its annual book sale at the Waterfront Art Festival.
They are also in need of large print books, which are often requested. Funds from the annual sale are used to publish Voter Guides and for other voter services.
Donated materials should be no more than 10 years old and in good condition. The league is not able to accept and store large quantities of books and requests the books meet the donation criteria.
Books can be delivered during normal business hours to the Ludington Centre, 1112 Ludington St. Donors are asked to use the 11th Street entrance, Suite 208, and look for the league’s sign. For pick-up, call Pat Rudden at 906-280-1789.
