St. Anthony of Padua raffle winner named
WELLS — The July 1 winner of the St. Anthony of Padua calendar raffle is Karen Thinglum of Escanaba. Thinglum won the $100 weekly prize.
Esky Class of 1965 reunion
HARRIS — The Escanaba Class of 1965 will hold their 60th reunion on Saturday, Sept. 6 at the Island Resort and Casino. The buffet dinner with appetizers is $38 per person. Payment must be made by Monday, Aug. 4 for an accurate count, per casinos requirements. Checks should be made out to “Escanaba Class of 1965” and sent to Mark Miller, 5389 Portage Point 11.4 Lane, Escanaba, MI 49829. Classmates should provide their name and that name of any spouse or guest for name tags.
Additional activities will be announced as they are finalized. Classmates are asked to contact other classmates or friends who are not in the class’ Facebook group. Assistance in reaching members is appreciated to ensure a successful reunion.
Anyone willing to help with organizing can join the group on Monday, July 21 from 1-3 p.m. at Drifters Restaurant.

Learn to Fly Day set for July 19
ESCANABA — Bay Area R/C Club will present “Learn to Fly Day” on Saturday, July 19 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The public is invited to learn to fly remote control model airplanes at no risk or charge, using our dual control systems.
Bay Area R/C Flying Club field is located 6 miles west of Escanaba and 4 miles north of Hyde on County Road 521/533. Follow signs to the field.

Gladstone Class of 1976 reunion
GLADSTONE — The Gladstone class of 1976, 50th reunion will be Thursday, July 2, 2026 at the Gladstone Golf Club.
Organizers are working on the details but need help with getting the word out, If you are in contact with any classmates, direct classmates to the class reunion’s Facebook page, “GHS Class of 1976 Reunion.”
Kids Fun Day
ESCANABA — Lakeside Christian Church, located at 2300 South 21st Street in Escanaba, will be hosting a Kids Fun Day on Wednesday, July 16 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
The event will feature a bounce house, face painting, games and crafts.

Blessed Hope Baptist plans Vacation Bible School
ESCANABA — “Running With Jesus” is the theme for Vacation Bible School at Blessed Hope Baptist Church July 21-25 from 6:30-8 p.m. for boys and girls ages 5-12. It will be an exciting time of Bible lessons, music, crafts, and snacks. There will also be a visit from the crew of the StarShip “U.S.S. EyeOnthe Prize.”

GLADSTONE — The Memorial United Methodist Church Clothes Closet is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The closet offers free clothes, coats and shoes for children, adults and in all sizes, including infant and plus sizes.
