MENOMINEE — So many times you hear people say, “I can’t find a job. There’s nothing here.” Well, The West Bagley Homemakers 3rd Career Fair, held on April 23, proved that not to be true.

With almost 600 students invited from grades 9 through 12 from North Central, Carney-Nadeau, Stephenson, Marinette Public, Peshtigo, St. Thomas Aquinas (Marinette) schools and also home schoolers students, it was a very informative day at Menominee High School.

Organizers said the showcase of businesses, trades, professions and educational resources in and around the area promotes the communities as well. It gave the students the knowledge that there is a tremendous variety of employers who have positions available, who those employers are, what they do, where they are located and what is needed to become one of their employees.

The career fair also gave the students time to connect with educational resources to learn how to develop themselves. Representatives from area tech schools and community colleges introduced students to the educational opportunities they offer, brought in simulators and tools.

The Homemakers would like to thank the following attendees who spent the day with the students: ABS-Advanced Blending Solutions, Adams Drywall Service, Advocate-Aurora Health Care, Baker Building Supply, BPM-Peshtigo, Bay College, Bellin Health-Emplify, Caterpillar, Gregg Young Chrysler-Abrams, City of Menominee Fire Department, City of Peshtigo Fire Department, Police, Department and Public Works, DAR Boys and Girls Club, Drees Electric, Eickmeyer Heating & Sheet Metal, Enstrom Helicopter, Fairchild Equipment, Fincantieri Marine Group, Flagstar Bank, Forward Financial Credit Union, Hinterland Advisors, Integra First Federal Credit Union, Jack’s Fresh Market-Menominee, Johnson Builders, Johnson Controls, Koehne Chevrolet & Power Sports, Lloyd Flanders Industries, Marinette Fire Department, Marinette Police Department, Marinette County Sheriff, Marinette & Menominee Veterans In Need, McDonalds-Menominee, Menominee City Police, Menominee County, Menominee County Fire Association, Menominee County Road Commission, Menominee County Sheriff-Corrections, Menominee Health Services, Midwest Truck Driving School, N.E.W.
