Cemetery rummage sale set, donations sought

ESCANABA — Donations are now being sought for the 24th Annual Lakeview Cemetery Rummage Sale. Clothes, electronics or mattresses will not be accepted.

The sale will be held June 13 from 3 to 7 p.m. and June 14 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Donations may be dropped off or picked up by call Sharon 906-553-2403, 2110 3rd Avenue South.

Legion Post 71 ­collecting unserviceable flags

GLADSTONE — The American Legion Post 71 in Gladstone is currently collecting them for proper disposal. Flags are being collected in a container located outside of post.

On Flag Day, Saturday, June 14, 6 p.m., Gladstone American Legion Post 71 will be having a “Dignified Disposal of Unserviceable Flags” at the Delta County Veterans Park in Gladstone. Flags can be dropped off before the event in the container outside the post or can be brought directly to the ceremony.

Genealogical Society to meet Monday at Bay

ESCANABA — The next meeting of the Delta County Genealogical Society is Monday, May 19 at 5 p.m. in room 961 of the Joseph Heirman University Center building at Bay College in Escanaba. The public is always invited. Bring your stories and research problems to the meeting. For further information, call Richard Reiffers at 906-233-9261.

Breakfast Sunday

GLADSTONE — Everyone is welcome at a breakfast, Sunday, May 18, from 9 a.m. to noon at American Legion Post 71, 802 Delta Ave, Gladstone. Children 5 and under eat free.

Pasties will also be available at the breakfast. This is the second-to-last breakfast the post will be having this season.
