Red Shirt Night Nov. 9

ESCANABA — The Annual Red Shirt Night will be held at the Escanaba Eagles on Saturday, Nov. 9.

Tickets include steak dinner and music by Grand Design with raffles and a 50/50 drawing. Dinner will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m., followed by music from 8 p.m. to midnight.

Purchase tickets by Nov. 5.

Annual Hunters Turkey Dinner set for Nov. 16

RAPID RIVER — The Walter W. Cole Post 301 Annual Hunters Turkey Dinner will take place at the post, Saturday, Nov. 16, from 4 to 7 p.m. Children age five and under eat free.

Raffle drawings will take place at 7 p.m.

Christmas basket sign up ongoing

ESCANABA — The St. Vincent de Paul 2024 Christmas basket sign-up is going on now through Nov. 11. Applications are available at the SVdP Service Center, 115 N 8th Street, Escanaba. Individuals are asked to fill the applications out at the Service Center. The center is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Christmas baskets are for families with dependent children in need of help this Christmas season.

There will be two scheduled pick-up times are Thursday afternoon, Dec. 12, and Friday morning, Dec. 13. Pick up will be at the Ruth Butler Building at the U.P. State Fairgrounds.

More details will be supplied on the applications.

Elks Auxiliary meeting date changed

ESCANABA — Due to a conflict in scheduling, the Elks Auxiliary Meeting for November will be changed from Thursday, Nov. 7 to Monday, Nov. 11. Call or text Peggy at 906-280-1585 with reservation or cancellation by Wednesday, Nov. 6.

The Auxiliary apologizes for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Democrats to meet

ESCANABA — The Delta Dems will meet Wednesday, Nov. 13, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the USW Hall, 1201 Sheridan Road, Escanaba. Social time begins at 6:30 p.m.

There will not be a meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 6.

The Delta Dems are currently planning to be at the Carpenter’s Hall, 1219 1st Avenue South, Escanaba, on Fridays from 5-7 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon until the election. Updates or changes will be announced on Facebook and email.
