DCARS to meet Monday

ESCANABA — The Delta County Amateur Radio Society (DCARS) will hold it’s monthly meeting on Monday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. The location is the Statewide Realty building at 2015 1st Ave N. in Escanaba.

Anyone with an interest in ham radio is welcome.

Dance in Rock

ROCK — A dance will be held at the Rock Community/Senior Center, located at 3892 W. Mapleridge Rd., on Sunday, Nov. 10 from 1 to 4 p.m. Live music will be provided by Old Friends.

There is a door cost and free will donation lunch. For more information, call Lucy at 356-6459. All proceeds benefit the Senior Corporation.

Christmas basket sign-up

ESCANABA — The St. Vincent de Paul 2024 Christmas basket sign-up will be Oct. 21 through Nov. 1. Applications are available at the SVdP Service Center, 115 N 8th Street, Escanaba. Individuals are asked to fill the applications out at the Service Center. The center is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Christmas baskets are for families with dependent children in need of help this Christmas season.

There will be two scheduled pick-up times are Thursday afternoon, Dec. 12, and Friday morning, Dec. 13. Pick up will be at the Ruth Butler Building at the U.P. State Fairgrounds.

More details will be supplied on the applications.

Eagles breakfast

ESCANABA — Escanaba Eagles 1088 will be serving breakfast on Sunday, Oct. 20 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The breakfast is open to the public.

Delta Dems to meet

ESCANABA — The Delta Dems will meet Wednesday, Nov. 13, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the USW Hall, 1201 Sheridan Road, Escanaba. Social time begins at 6:30 p.m.

There will not be a meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 6.

The Delta Dems are currently planning to be at the Carpenter’s Hall, 1219 1st Avenue South, Escanaba, on Fridays from 5-7 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon until the election. Updates or changes will be announced on Facebook and email.
