AAUW cancels January meeting due to COVID

ESCANABA — Due to the COVID pandemic, the Escanaba Area Branch of AAUW (American Association of University Women) is canceling the planned January gathering at the House of Ludington. Anyone with items for the Tri County Safe Harbor can drop them off at Kathleen Bennett’s home no later than January 13. Members may call 786-3415 if they have further questions.

Book donations needed

ESCANABA — The Delta County League of Women Voters is looking for donations of books, audio books, DVD’s and music CDs to be sold at its annual book sale at the Waterfront Art Festival on August 7. They are also in need of large print books, which are often requested. Funds from the annual sale are used to publish voter guides and for other voter services.

Donated materials should be no more than 10 years old and in good condition. Books can be delivered to the Daily Press Business Office at 600 Ludington Street during normal business hours. You can also call Pat Rudden at 906-280-1789 for pick up.

Local students on MSOE Dean’s List

MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee School of Engineering congratulates students named to the fall quarter 2021 dean’s list.

Jacob Strasler, of Gladstone, was named to the Milwaukee School of Engineering’s Dean’s List for the 2021 fall quarter. Strasler is pursuing a bachelor of science in software engineering.

Megan Spindler, of Gladstone, was named to the Milwaukee School of Engineering’s Dean’s List with High Honors for the 2021 fall quarter. Spindler is pursuing a bachelor of science in nursing.

Morgan Anderson of Escanaba, was named to the MSOE Honors List. Anderson is pursuing a bachelor of science in biomolecular engineering.

Calixt Charlebois of Gladstone, was named to the MSOE Honors List. Charlebois is pursuing a bachelor of science in software engineering.
