AMVETS looks to start rider program
ESCANABA — AMVETS Post 123 of Escanaba is looking to start an AMVETS Riders Program. Veterans or direct family members of veterans that are interested in joining and starting a charter are asked to call Mark List at 906-420-8274.
The mission statement of the AMVETS Riders Program is as follows: “We the AMVETS Riders are a dedicated and patriotic group of motorcycle riders who hold true to an unwavering respect for our nation, our flag, and our military… past, present and future.”
MARSP to meet Aug. 3
ESCANABA — The Highland Golf Club will host the Aug. 3 meeting of MARSP at noon. Deceased members will be honored at a memorial service following lunch. If you are not on a calling list, call Alice at 906-786-7748 before July 22.

RAPID RIVER — The Rapid Readers’ July discussion of “The Four Winds” by Kristin Hannah will take place at Jack’s Restaurant in Rapid River on Wednesday, July 21 at 10 a.m. Members are asked to bring suggestions for the August read.
