4-H Delta County Russ Mawby Book Drive

ESCANABA — In celebration of Russ Mawby Day, the Delta County 4-H Program is launching a community book drive beginning today, May 21. The purpose of the book drive is to collect children’s books for the Delta County 4-H Book Nooks that will be located at the Hannahville Youth Center and other locations around the community.

May 21 is a special day for AmeriCorp members who serve the community. It is a day to remember Russ Mawby, who was a leader in promoting youth 4-H programs across Michigan. This book drive honors Mawby’s lifelong devotion to nurturing, mentoring, and opening doors of opportunity for youth.

New or gently used children’s books can be delivered to the drop-off box found at Elmer’s Market in Escanaba now until June 21. If you have any questions, contact Elizabeth Alderman, Delta County 4-H AmeriCorp member at alderm21@msu.edu.
