Coat drive at airport

ESCANABA — The Salvation Army and Delta County Airport are engaging in a joint partnership to collect coats for the needy this season. The coat drive will run until Dec. 6. The drop off locations are Pats Food-Gladstone, The Store gas station on South Lincoln Road, and the Delta County Airport.

Shoe collection sites

ESCANABA — A local sophomore is organizing the collection of gently used and new shoes. The program, Soles4Souls, is a Nashville-based company that gives donated shoes to people in need throughout the world. Any kind of shoes is accepted, though there can be no holes or tears can be in the shoes.

Shoes can be dropped off at Classic Auto Collision Centers in Escanaba, Iron Mountain, and Marquette; Baybank in Escanaba, Gladstone, and Rapid River; Escanaba Junior/Senior High School; Bonifas Arts Center in Escanaba; and St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Escanaba.

Menominee County MARSP cancels meeting

MENOMINEE — Because of the current public health crisis, the Menominee County Chapter of the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel (MARSP) has canceled the MARSP meeting scheduled for November.

The leadership will continue to monitor the situation and inform members about when it will be deemed safe to resume the regular meeting schedule.
