Remember When?

Daily Press file photo Shown above is a tree being planted in Ludington Park during the winter of 1957. In total, 47 trees were transplanted and each tree averaged nine years old. The trees were moved from the airport to the south end of Ludington Park. Most of the trees were red oaks, but there were a few hard maples. In order to receive the trees, holes had to be dug the previous fall, according to City Forester Robert Clayton.
