Escanaba Eagles to hold breakfast Sunday

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Eagles 1088 will serve breakfast on Sunday, October 20, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Eagles Hall located at 608 Ludington Street in Escanaba.

The public is welcome to attend. There is a fee for the breakfast. For more information, call the Escanaba Eagles Club at 786-3451.

Harvest Dinner Oct. 20

FLAT ROCK — Holy Family Church, located at 4011 County 416 20th Road, will hold its annual Harvest Dinner and Bazaar on Sunday, Oct. 20. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. In addition to the meal, there will also be an adult silver dollar booth, something for kids, bucket raffles, and a large raffle.

There is a cost to attend, and children under five are admitted free. Take-out meals will be available by calling 906-789-0307.

Potluck in Isabella

ISABELLA — The Isabella Community Hall, located at U.S. 2 and County Road 495, will hold a potluck dinner at 6 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 19. Guests are encouraged to bring their favorite card or board game for evening enjoyment. Door prizes will be awarded at the end of the event.

Marine Auxiliary ­spaghetti fundraiser

ESCANABA — The Marine Corps League Auxiliary Annual Spaghetti Fundraiser will be held on Oct. 19 at the Elks Club in Escanaba. Dinner is served from 4 to 7 p.m.

Harvest Bazaar planned

GARDEN — Garden Christian Fellowship, along with Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church, will hold their Harvest Bazaar, Silent Basket Auction and Luncheon on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at 6411 State St in Garden.

Beginner line dancing

GLADSTONE — Gladstone Senior Center offers free line dance lessons with a wide array of music each Friday morning. No partner is needed, and you don’t have to be a member of the center to participate. Class times are:

Newbie beginners: 9:15 to 10 a.m.

Regular beginners: 10 to 10:50 a.m.

Intermediate: 11 to 11:30 a.m.

Gladstone Senior Center seeks bingo volunteers

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone Senior Center is seeking volunteers to chair and run the weekly Tuesday night bingo. Bingo at the senior center is the main fundraiser for the operation and maintenance of the building.

The Gladstone Senior Citizens Non-Profit Corporation is a group of senior citizens with a 12-member board of directors that own and maintain the building. The building, which hosts daily activities for seniors, is also occupied by the Community Action Agency, which serves Gladstone and some nearby areas with Meals on Wheels program lunches.

Those interested in running bingo at the senior center or who would like more information are asked to call 906-420-2730.

Cancer fundraiser

BARK RIVER — A spaghetti dinner, bake sale, and silent auction will take place at Salem Lutheran Church, located at 4304 D Road in Bark River, on Oct. 20. The event, which is hosted by the Salem Lutheran Cancer Support group, will benefit local families by helping with cancer-related expenses.

The event kicks off at 11:30 a.m. and will run until 3 p.m. EST, with the silent auction closing at 2 p.m. A free-will offering will also be taken at the event.

‘Halloween Tails’ at the Gladstone Library

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone Public Library will host a “Halloween Tails!” story hour on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
