Isabella Farmers Market

ISABELLA — The Isabella Farmers Market will be open each Friday at the Isabella Community Hall, located on US 2 and County Road 495, each Friday beginning July 19 from 3 to 6 p.m.

Live music at Amvets

ESCANABA — Amvets Post 123 will have live music Friday, July 19 and Saturday, July 20 at 7 p.m. Friday night will feature the Ghost Riders and Saturday will feature Raven Madness Karaoke. The public is welcome.

Garden walk Sunday

ESCANABA — The Annual Garden Walk will be held this Sunday, July 21, come rain or shine. The walk begins at 1 p.m. and goes to 4 p.m. There are a variety of gardens this year, with large and small yards represented.

Tickets are available at Wickert Floral in the Delta Plaza Mall and Trotters in Gladstone. The day of the walk, tickets will be for sale outside the Escanaba Downtown Development Authority building at 12:30 p.m. For more information, call 906-241-7385.

Come Sail Away event

ESCANABA — On Saturday, July 20, the Escanaba Yacht Club will host their annual “Come Sail Away” event. The public is invited to enjoy a one hour ride on a sailboat or a powerboat. This is a great way for people who have never been on a boat to experience our beautiful little Bay de Noc.

Call 280-4644 to register for a 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m. or 1 p.m. ride. This is a weather dependent event.

Eagles to hold breakfast

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Eagles 1088 will serve breakfast Sunday, July 21, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Eagles Hall, located at 608 Ludington St. in Escanaba.

The public is welcome to attend. There is a fee to attend the breakfast. For more information call the Escanaba Eagles Club at 786-3451.

St. Joseph Parish Picnic

PERKINS — The 60th Annual St. Joseph Parish Picnic will be held on Sunday, July 21 from noon until 4 p.m. Dessert and a beverage are included.

There will be bucket and large raffles, and kids’ games. All are welcome.

Scholarship and loan checks available

GLADSTONE — Scholarship and loan checks from the Gladstone Student Loan Foundation can be picked up at Gladstone School/Public Library on Monday, July 22 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4:30 to 6 p.m. After this date, scholarship checks can be picked up at the central office. For loan checks, contact the Anderson, Tackman & Company accounting office.

AAUW to tour Center

HANNAVILLE — On Saturday, July 27, American Association of University Women (AAUW) members will meet at the Native American Cultural Center in Hannaville for a tour of the facility. The tour will include a Native American-themed lunch. A small fee will be charged for lunch and reservations are required. Members and guests are asked to call 786-3415 no later than July 23 if they plan to attend. Those who have already signed up do not need to call as their reservation has been confirmed. Questions should be directed to the number listed here.

AAUW was established in 1881 and is open to men and women holding an associates degree or higher. The group promotes gender equity and life-long learning. For further information about AAUW call 399-6080.

Cancer benefit for April Fitzgerald Turner

QUINNESEC, Mich. — A benefit will be held Saturday, Aug. 3 from 1 to 5 p.m. at The Big 10 Sport Bar and Grill in Quinnesec, Mich. for April Fitzgerald Turner. Turner has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Food will be provided by The Curious Pig, and raffles and 50/50 drawings will take place.
