Lundberg named Bay’s TORCH Award winner

ESCANABA — Renee Lundberg has been honored as the winner of Bay College’s quarterly TORCH Award for the June – August 2019 period.

Lundberg works at Bay College as the business development manager for workforce development.

According to Bay College, Lundberg has been instrumental in responding to industry needs for customized training as a result of recent grant monies awarded through Michigan’s Going Pro Funding Project. Her responsiveness to industry partners has been professional, timely and has surpassed expectations as she has worked diligently to build individual and customized training programs. Not only has she gone above and beyond to make sure Bay is delivering high quality programs, she has built numerous relationships within over the years that value her knowledge and professionalism.

Lundberg is often found on campus well into the evening hours to serve workforce training partners. She dedicates numerous hours to workforce training researching best offerings, securing subject matter trainers and seeing through the delivery of programs.

The purpose of the TORCH Award is to give personal recognition to those employees on Bay College’s campuses dedicated to the mission of the college because of their attitude, commitment, and dedication toward the higher education learning environment. TORCH stands for “Team player,” “Outstanding performance,” “Responsive to others,” “Conscientious to mission of Bay,” and “Helpful to all.”

Nominations for future TORCH Award recipients will be accepted from employees, students and the community. Nomination forms for the TORCH Award can be found on Bay College’s website, www.baycollege.edu/employment.
