IXL Hermansville Museum 137th birthday

HERMANSVILLE — The IXL Historical Museum in Hermansville will host its 137th birthday party June 23, from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. CDT. Children under 10 are admitted free. The entrance fee will include live music and tours.

Birthday cupcakes and lemonade will be available for purchase. Money earned from this event will go towards roofing the IXL office building. Bring your lawn chairs, family, and friends and spend the afternoon.

Wells Lions 52 club ­raffle winner named

WELLS — The winner of the Wells Lions Club raffle for the week of June 10 is Ray LaMarche of Escanaba. LaMarche won $100. This was week 45 of the raffle.

American Legion ­breakfast June 16

GLADSTONE — The American Legion in Gladstone will serve breakfast Sunday, June 16 from 9 a.m. to noon. The public is welcome.

Kids on Kampus returns

ESCANABA — Bay College has announced the return of the Kids on Kampus summer youth programs.

A variety of course options will provide students with an opportunity to experience learning in a format different than their traditional classrooms. Kids entering fourth through seventh grade will experience hands-on learning during three-day courses focused on activities and fun.

Course offerings include: Bugs, Berries and Hike; Explore with Cameras; LEGO Robotics; Phun with Physics; Electricity – It’s a Snap; and Monster Mash-Up. Courses will run from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and are available the weeks of June 18, June 25, July 9 and July 16. Parents can register their children for one week or more than one week if they want to experience different courses.

There is a cost for the week-long programs. Students will receive a t-shirt, snack, and drink.

Bay de Noc Lions Club to meet June 27

WELLS — The Bay de Noc Lions “Community Service” Club and future E-Club welcomes everyone interested in their group to join other volunteers on Thursday, June 27 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Wells Township Hall in Wells.

Guests are asked to bring ideas for community service projects and should expect to experience personal growth and witness the impact they will have helping others.

Croatian golf open

GLADSTONE — The 49th Annual Croatian Golf Open 9-hole event will be held on June 30 at the Irish Oaks Golf Course. Check in starts at noon and golfing starts at 1 p.m. There is a cost for the golfing and meal.

The event is open to all persons of Croatian descent and their families. At least one member of the family must be of Croatian descent. Croatian chicken and povitica along with other menu items will be served.

Gladstone Class of 1979 reunion planned

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone Class of 1979 alumni will gather at the Gladstone Golf Course, 6514 Days River 24.5 Road, Gladstone, Michigan, Saturday, July 6 at 5 p.m. for their 40th reunion.
