Audubon Club meeting

ESCANABA — The Bay de Noc Audubon Club will hold its monthly meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held in Room 961 of the Heirman Building at Bay College. The meeting is open to anyone interested in birding. There is no charge.

Cow pie bingo winners

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone Senior Class of 2019 would like to thank everyone who purchased a Cow Pie Bingo ticket to support the All Night Senior Party, to be held in May 2019. The first place winner was Kathryn Chenier, who won $1,000; second place was Art Paquin, $750; third place was Dow Dawon Sr., $500; and fourth place was Brady Downey, $250. The three winners of the $100 consolation prizes were Lori Carlson, Leah Hongisto and Shirley Gardner.

The seniors would also like to give a special thanks to Kayla Verbeek/Rappett Farm for the use of their three cows, G.I. Jane, Rasberry and MiMi for the day of the event.

Kiwanis Club to meet

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone-Rapid River Kiwanis Club holds its weekly meetings each Wednesday at 7 a.m at First Lutheran Church, located at 1212 Minneapolis Ave. in Gladstone.

The Kiwanis Club welcomes new members who desire to support children. If you are interested in helping fill weekend food backpacks for the 150 school children who would have little or no food to eat on weekends without these backpacks, the club welcomes your assistance. Each Wednesday at 3 p.m., members meet at Gladstone High School to fill weekend food backpacks for the Rapid River School and the four Gladstone schools. Members also deliver the food to the five schools.

Kiwanis Clubs around the globe serve the needs of their community’s kids with all kinds of support, including playground equipment, food, clothing, leadership and educational opportunities. Hunters’ Bake Sale set

GLADSTONE — The women’s group of the Covenant Church will hold its Hunters’ Bake Sale, which offers homemade breads, pies, and assorted baked goods, on Tuesday, Nov. 13, from noon to 6 p.m. and on Wednesday, Nov. 14, from 8 a.m. until sold out. The church is located at the corner of 9th Street and Michigan Avenue in Gladstone.

Hunters’ Turkey Dinner to take place Nov. 17

RAPID RIVER — The Annual Hunters’ Turkey Dinner will be held at the Walter W. Cole Post 301 in Rapid River on Saturday, Nov. 17 from 4 to 7 p.m. Children age 4 and under eat free.

Gladstone Library sets special holiday hours

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone School and Public Library will be open during regular hours Thursday, Nov. 15 and Friday, Nov. 16, for the opening of deer season. Thanksgiving holiday hours are:

Wednesday, Nov. 21 — 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Thursday, Nov. 22 — Closed

Friday, Nov. 23 — Closed

Regular hours will resume on Monday, Nov. 26.

Monthly Veteran Council ­meeting cancelled

ESCANABA — The Nov. 14 Delta County Veteran Council meeting is cancelled. The next scheduled meeting will be on Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. at the Purple Heart Building, located at 1202 Sheridan Rd.
