Walk for Life this Saturday in Ludington Park

ESCANABA — Pregnancy Services of Delta County’s fourth annual Walk for Life will take place this Saturday, Sept. 15th.

Registration will begin at 9 a.m. at the Ludington Park pavilion. Opening ceremonies and a two-mile walk around Ludington Park will begin at 10 a.m. An alternate one-mile route will be marked as well. Families are encouraged to attend and pets are welcome.

A free lunch provided by donors and sponsors will immediately follow. A bake sale and silent auction will continue until 12 p.m.

“At Pregnancy Services of Delta County, we are empowering women and families to make healthy life choices,” stated Audra Buchmiller, executive director. “We offer a safe place for women and families to discuss, and think through, all of their options related to their pregnancy, and we value life for mother, father, and child.”

Proceeds raised through the Walk for Life will allow families to continue to receive free and confidential services through Pregnancy Services of Delta County, which include pregnancy testing, pregnancy options peer counseling, an earn-while-you-learn parenting program (material supplies needed are earned by families as they receive education on parenting, health and wellness, and life skills), adoption support, information on abortion procedures and risks, Man 2 Man mentoring, post-abortion support (for anyone affected by abortion), the Family Resource Room, and sexual integrity and health education.

“Our annual Walk For Life is an expression of community support for those experiencing an unplanned pregnancy that extends outside of the four walls of our center,” shared Buchmiller. “Through gifts of time, talent, and treasure, we are showing women and families that they are not alone, that there is hope, and that there are alternatives to abortion.”
