Joanne and Robert Taylor celebrate 50 years of marriage

ESCANABA — A 50th anniversary celebration for Robert M. Taylor and A. Joanne Taylor was held at the Island Resort and Casino on Jan. 13. with about 85 guests from Chicago, Racine, Charlevoix, and Petoskey in attendance. The party was given by their four children Debra Mattson, Jeff Taylor, Brian Taylor and Todd Taylor.

Bob and Joanne were married at All Saints Church in Escanaba on Feb. 10, 1968. They have lived in Escanaba for 50 years. Bob retired from Roy Ness in 2005 after 40 years with them. Bob also served his country for 29 years as a member of the National Guard.

Joanne was a stay at home mom raising their children and worked for the Pine Ridge School for a short time. She also volunteered for OSF Hospital and OSF Hospice for about 15 years.

Now, Bob and Joanne like to travel on their motorcycle all over the U.S., going to California three times. They also like to travel, with Hawaii being one of their favorites.

The couple also enjoys camping and spending time with their eight grandchildren, one great-grandson and friends.
