North Central Area Schools held their annual National Honor Society induction on Sunday, Jan. 31. Students honored include, top from left, Seth Polfus, Madyson Wells, Macy Whitens, Marcus Krachinski, Jason Whitens, Cameron Lauscher, Dawson Bilski, Brenden Gatien, Nikki O’Neil, Sarah Granquist and Bobby Kleiman. They joined current members, bottom from left, Shelby Hoffart, Secretary Jaycee Faccio, Treasurer Riley O’Neil, President Brett Baird, Vice President Dylan Debelak and Emily Pfeiff. In order to be selected as a member of the North Central Chapter of NHS, students need to portray the four pillars of NHS: Character, Scholarship, Leadership and Service. Juniors and seniors need to maintain a 3.15 GPA, while early admission sophomores require a 3.5 GPA. All students who are eligible solely based on GPA are given an application packet. After the packets are turned in, a faculty council of five teachers meets to vote on students for membership and schedule interviews for candidates as well. Twenty-two students applied for the honor, with 11 students chosen for membership this year.
