Northern Exposure XXIV returns

Ilsa Matthes | Daily Press Guest view art at last year’s Northern Exposure reception.

ESCANABA — The Bonifas Arts Center will host its 24th annual regional competition, Northern Exposure. A public reception to view the wide variety of artwork submitted by artists from around the Upper Peninsula, will be held on Thursday, Nov. 9 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the arts center in Escanaba.

Northern Exposure encourages U.P. artists to create new artworks and allows them to showcase their pieces.

Artwork in the show ranges from traditional to experimental in any medium, including photography, water color and colored pencils. Pieces are judged based on three criteria — creativity, originality and craftsmanship. The winners and awards will be announced at 8 p.m.
