SHF Releases 2026 Care Access Grant RFP
Superior Health Foundation (SHF) is accepting applications for its 2026 Care Access Grant program until Mar. 11.
MARQUETTE – Superior Health Foundation (SHF) is now accepting applications for its 2026 Care Access Grant program, designed to provide for otherwise unmet medical needs of uninsured, under-insured, and medically vulnerable residents of the Upper Peninsula.
SHF’s Care Access Fund addresses a critical need in the region by supporting organizations that directly help patients access care they otherwise couldn’t afford, from cancer treatment and hospice services to behavioral health programs and emergency medical care. Some examples include, but are not limited to:
– A cancer care services organization that provides financial support to patients who are otherwise unable to afford their treatment or supplemental healthcare;
– A hospice that provides funding to families who cannot otherwise afford to admit a loved one;
– A hospital that provides assistance to patients who cannot otherwise afford care; and
– A behavioral health center that helps clients with the cost of residential or outpatient treatment.
Awards range between $2,500 and $10,000 and are available to tax-exempt organizations based in or serving the Upper Peninsula that provide, arrange for or fund medical or healthcare services. Private foundations are not eligible.
Concept calls or papers are due Mar. 4, and applications are due Mar. 11. Awards are set to be announced this May. For the full RFP, eligibility requirements, and application instructions, please visit superiorhealthfoundation.org.
