Gladstone dominates at U.P. wrestling championship meet

MARQUETTE —- The Gladstone Braves didn’t let anything stand in their way here Saturday as they ran away with the Upper Peninsula wrestling championship with 224½ points. They were followed by Escanaba 147, Sault Ste. Marie 139, Marquette 132½ and last year’s champ Kingsford 120½. ESCANABA — A basketball game which appeared to have the makings of a blowout early in the fourth quarter turned into a burn-barner here Friday night as the Bark River-Harris boys hung on for a 53-50 triumph over the Escanaba Eskymos.
