EDITOR: Some people vote Republican because their parents did, and they don’t pay much attention currently to politics. They are too busy with their jobs with their families, following football, planning for hunting season, etc. But the present MAGA Republican party is not your Daddy’s party. EDITOR: People should be voting for policies...not for the cutest, nicest, best personality, etc. Kamala, when she was in her late 20s, had a “relationship” with a married man in his 60s. Willy Brown was the mayor of San Francisco; it is reported that he was instrumental in advancing his mistress’s career. EDITOR: Congressional candidate Callie Barr has visited the U.P. and Delta County innumerable times during this campaign season. Not since Bart Stupak represented the First Congressional District, which includes the U.P., have we had a congressional candidate visit our area as often as this energetic Michigander. In Delta County this past summer, I noticed she visited our military museum, the U.P. State Fair and attended a state employee retiree luncheon a couple weeks ago. EDITOR: Since the recall election last May, the Delta County Commissioner meetings have improved. The new board members are respectful of each other and their constituents. The first order of business was to reinstate our local prosecuting attorney as the county’s legal representative, as promised and delivered by Commissioner Kelli van Ginhoven.
