BRAMPTON — Julianne K. Servant, 76, of Brampton passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday morning, October 17, 2024 at her home. Her husband, Wayne Servant preceded her in death. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 22 from 2 until 4 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Escanaba. A funeral service will follow visiting hours at 4 p.m. with Pastor Mike Markwell officiating. A luncheon will take place in the church hall immediately after. James ‘Jim’ Douglas Johnston

AURORA, Ill. — James ‘Jim’ Douglas Johnston, 74, of Aurora, Illinois passed away on January 1, 2024. Jim lived in Escanaba and Bark River for 20 years in the 1960s and 1970s. He worked for Stenberg for a short time. Jim was a devoted husband and accountant and earned a master’s in finance from Western International University. An avid reader, book collector and lover of Celtic music, Folk rock and the band Rush. He was known for his kindness, wisdom and love of the Detroit Lions. GLADSTONE — Gary Donald Sodergard, age 81, of Gladstone passed away October 2, 2024 at Eastwood Nursing Center in Negaunee, Mich. He was born December 15, 1942 in Escanaba, Mich. and was the son of John Hugo and Margaret H. (Kositzky) Sodergard. He grew up in Gladstone and graduated from Gladstone High School. Gary moved to California and worked for Honeywell Corporation in their thermostat plant. After his retirement he returned to Gladstone.
