Lowell ‘John’ Stone

GLADSTONE — Lowell “John” Stone, 70, of Gladston, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017.

John was born May 6, 1947, in Escanaba, the son of Carl and Abigail (Gish) Stone. He was raised in Stonington and graduated from Rapid River High School. John served his country proudly in the Special Forces of the United States. He was employed with Independent Roofing for over 20 years. John was united in marriage to Faith “Susie” Hayes on July 19, 1992, in Escanaba. He was a trivia champion and a master cribbage player and enjoyed fishing, country music and the Chicago Bears.

John is survived by his wife, his daughter, Amber (Chris) Soderman of Days River Road; his grandchildren, Rachel, Claire, Sarah and Gus Soderman; his brother, Carl “Butch” Stone of Hayward, Wis..; his sister, Dorothy Kaminski; and his nieces, Sheila (Richard) Helf and Cheryl Stone.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Lois Stone.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

The Stone family is being assisted by the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone.
