Beverly Ann Plourde

CORNELL — Beverly Ann Plourde, 83, of Cornell, passed away early Wednesday morning, January 28, 2026 at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on August 11, 1942 in Stambaugh, MI, daughter to Wallace and Verle (Greenlund) Routheaux. Beverly was raised in Iron River and graduated from West Iron County High School. During her high school years, she was an Iron River Red Skin Cheerleader and she graduated in 1960. She attended cosmetology school in Green Bay and had a career of 40+ years of taking care of her wonderful clients.

On April 25, 1964, the former Beverly Routheaux married Gerald Plourde at Holy Family Church in Flat Rock. They were blessed with 46 years of marriage and three children. Gerald preceded Beverly in death on December 13, 2010.

Beverly always had a special place in her heart for her home town of Iron River and enjoyed returning there whether for a class or family reunion, the annual camping adventure at Pentoga Park, or enjoying the best Riverside pizza. Her monthly “West Iron County Girls” gatherings were always cherished times.

An avid gardener, Beverly often started early April working on her beautiful flower gardens and diligently cared for them daily. Beverly also enjoyed bike riding with her excursions often including many miles. She was an amazing cook, preparing meals and baking for her family and friends, especially during the holidays was always a treat.

Beverly loved to decorate her house, go on shopping trips (especially to the Buckle), and her regular appointments of pampering including her pedicures and hair. She enjoyed dancing and music; often enjoying her favorites during cleaning sessions or cooking in the kitchen. Above all, Beverly cherished time with her friends and family.

She took initiative to establish the Cornell Volunteer Fire Department with fundraising and was a lifelong member of Bethany Lutheran Church.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Renee (John) Miron, Colleen (Mark Bubloni) Warren, and Jerry (Liza) Plourde; her sweetheart, Tom Chaillier; grandchildren, Andrew (Rachel) Miron, Ashley (Kelsey) Wagner, Katie (Jeremy) Nyquist, Derek (Jamie) Warren, Cody (Emily) Warren, , Logan Warren, Sydney Warren, Veronica (Brandon) Robinette, Jared Plourde, and 11 great-grandchildren, Hallie, Cassie, Isla, Casey, Vada, Noah, Joslyn, Dayton, Venture, Wren, and Quinn; siblings, Barbara Frankalucci, Randy (Cheryl) Routheaux, Eugene (Marilyn) Routheaux, Dennis (Debbie) Routheaux; brother in law, and Trent Niles; sister-in-law, Char (Rod) Rousseau; along with many nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brother, Clyde (Virginia) Routheaux; siblings, Judy Niles, Clyde (Virginia) Routheaux, and Connie Ojaniemi; father and mother-in-law, Joseph and Leola Plourde; and In-laws, Norm (Ann) Plourde, Don (Betty) Plourde and Laurel (Matt) Malnor.

Visitation will take place on Monday, February 2nd, at the Bethany Lutheran Church, 202 S 11th St, Escanaba, from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. The funeral service will immediately follow at 4 p.m. with Rev. Lily Brondyke officiating. A meal will be served in the church hall at the conclusion of the service.

Burial will take place at Gardens of Rest Cemetery.
