ATV/ORV safety certification class set

ESCANABA — ATV/ORV safety certification class will be held on U.P. State Fairgrounds Sept. 8 either in MDNR Pocket Park Education Center building or red building No. 5. Students are encouraged to bring their own ATV/ORV to the class along with helmet and eye protection. SORVA has some machines for use. If your ATV/ORV is not stickered for this year, the one time use for educational training allows use during the class time frame. Adults are also encouraged to attend and participate.

Class will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. including time on the practical skills track and a ride on the Escanaba-Hermansville limited access trail/route. lunch and a cookout after the ride are provided.

Free food and refreshments are sponsored by OSF St. Francis Hospital. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is providing all educational materials free of charge. The Sportsmen’s Off-Road Vehicle Association (SORVA) of Delta County is sponsoring the class and training personnel free of charge.
