Meet the Athlete: Alex Ison

ESCANABA -- As the 2026-27 football season heads toward the playoffs it’s time for another Meet the Athlete. Today it’s Escanaba senior quarterback Alex Ison.

Adam Hinch: When did you start playing football?

Alex Ison: I started playing flag football as a kid but my first year of real football was in fifth grade.

AH: What made you want to go out for football?

AI: I always loved the sport growing up and when the opportunity to play tackle football came I jumped right on it.

AH: What do you like to do away from football?

AI: I like to work out, hang out with friends and collect sportscards.

AH: What has been the funnest part of this senior season?

AI: I would say the practices with the guys. We all have fun together and work hard to get things done and these big wins are also fun for us.

AH:What was the biggest moment of your high school career?

AI: I would say the Alpena game. Just realizing what I could really do and what my true potential could be.

AH: Do you have plans for college and what you want to major in?

AI: I plan on going to Central Michigan University and looking to become a personal financial advisor.

AH: What kind of music do you listen to?

AI: I like some rap but mostly house music, stuff with a chill vibe.

AH: What is your favorite food?

AI: Chicken Alfredo.

AH: Are you a pizza fan?

AI: Ya i'm a thin crust kind of guy.

AH: Does pineapple belong on pizza?

AI: Yes.

AH: What is your favorite NFL team?

AI: The Green Bay Packers.

AH: If you could attend any NFL stadium, which one would you choose.

AI: I would say Arrowhead Stadium, the atmosphere is electric there.

AH: What is your favorite soft drink?

AI: Sprite.

AH: If you could go anywhere on vacation where would you go?

AI: I would go to Italy.
