HARBOR SPRINGS -- The season may have come to an end Tuesday afternoon as the Big Bay de Noc Black Bears fell 8-2 in a MHSAA district semifinal game, but the hard work and dedication is something the program can build on for the future.
The Rams got four goals from senior Aaron Baughman and a pair of goals from junior Gavin Venier.
Baughman scored three of his four goals in the first half as Harbor Springs took a 4-0 lead at the half.
The Black Bears scored a pair of goals in the second half as senior Parker Pederson and junior Eli Cooper both found the back of the net.
The Rams added four goals in the second half and had 31 shots on goal in the contest.
"I was happy with how the boys played," Black Bears coach Alex Ranguette said. "We played them last year and lost 13-0 in the first half. This year we played the whole game, scored two goals and played a scoreless game for the first 27 minutes of the game."
The Black Bears finished the season 16-3.
