"For having just five players, they're pretty good," Hannahville coach Breanne Massey said. "Number 18 (freshman Delilah Doke) is a nice player for them. We were able to play everybody, which is a good thing. That gave these girls a chance to gain some valuable experience."

"They tried," Paradise coach Peggy Imhoff said. "The girls did okay. We weren't sure if we were going to have a team. We had one week of practice. We have a long way to go yet. We practice in a very small gym. I'm encouraged by the way the girls performed."
In the first match, Mathias provided the Soaring Eagles with an eight-point run and Ava Matthews added a seven-point run for a 19-3 advantage.
