Braves defeat Maroons in tennis action

GLADSTONE --The Gladstone girls tennis team continues to move in the right direction with a 5-3 win over Menominee here Thursday.
The Braves were very impressive in singles action as Lillian Ketcham defeated Menominee's Ella Chouinard in a pair of 6-0 sets. Lillian used a combination of a forehand as well as a back hand shot to make plays and her presence at the net.
Gladstone senior Madison Sundquist also had a pair of 6-0 set wins over Menominee's Kaitly Merrill.
"It was a great day for the girls today," Braves coach Ryan Barron said. "The season is fast and furious this time of year with the GNC's coming up next weekend in Marquette.
The Braves were also victorious in three of the four doubles flights here against Meniominee.
The best doubles match came at No. 4 doubles as Gladstone's Reese Lovell and Miranda Drielick defeated Annabell Adams and Kylee Sevon 6-2, 6-4.
"The girls continue to improve every time out," Barron said. "I'm proud of the work they have grown as a team as we head into tournaments."
