GARDEN CORNERS -- The Big Bay de Noc soccer team kept the undefeated season going here Tuesday night as they defeated Munising Baptist 3-0 to improve to 6-0 on the season with a hat trick from junior Eli Cooper.

Cooper's first goal of the day came with 32:38 to go in the first half as the Munising Baptist goalie was caught out of position and Cooper made him pay to put the Black Bears up 1-0.

With 15:13 to go in the first half senior Parker Perderson made a nice pass to set up the second goal of the day for Cooper.

"Parker did a really good job of coming down the sideline and made the perfect pass and I was able to put it in.

Pederson who is a captain on the team is an elite passer as well as a scorer for the Black Bears and the pass that set up Cooper's second goal was definitely a highlight worthy pass.

"The pass was phenomenal," Black Bears coach Alex Ranquette said. "Not only the pass but the way Eli finished it off with the shot and defensively we were strong throughout the game."

The Black Bears added another goal with 7:27 to go in the game as Cooper capped off the night with a hat trick as he found the back of the net to put the Black Bears up 3-0.

"I got told by my coach to shoot it if I get the opportunity,” Cooper said. "I got a nice shot and it went in and it feels even better to still be undefeated."

The Black Bears travel to Beaver Island this weekend then travel to take on Escanaba Bayside on Monday before hosting Ojibwe Charter on Tuesday.
