The UP Sports Hall of Fame 23-member council recently held their annual meeting and is pleased to announce the 2027 class of ten new inductees into the UP Sports Hall of Fame.
They are:
Kelly Jean Allen (Paralympic canoeist, Kingsford), Don Carlson (basketball player, Kingsford), Gordy Chinn (coach, Ishpeming), John Croze (track/football coach, Ishpeming), Angela Guisfredi VanWagner (basketball player, Hubbell), Charles Lucchesi (football player, Hancock), Mike Ludlum (sports broadcaster, Marquette), Kevin Luke (basketball coach, Houghton), Troy Mattson (basketball player/coach, Ishpeming/Marquette), and John McCormick (football/track/basketball player, Marquette).
The 55th Annual Upper Peninsula Sports Hall of Fame Induction ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 8th 2027 at the Island Resort and Casino in Harris. Details for the banquet will be provided in early 2027.
