ESCANABA -- With only three regular season nights remaining in the 2026 season at Escanaba Motor Speedway it’s time for another Meet the Racer this week, its 500 sportsman sprint driver Macy Degnan. Degnan sits third in the points standings three points back of second place driver Braxton Lundquist and six points back of points leader Nate Viau.
Adam Hinch: So Macy, when did you start racing?
Macy Degnan: I started racing in 2021.
AH: What got you into wanting to race?
MD: My dad was either gonna sell the car or I was going to race it so I decided to race it and here we are.
AH: What do you like to do away from racing?
MD: I enjoy spending time with family and working at my jobs at Drifters and the School.
AH: What is your favorite barbecue food?
MD: Definitely my boyfriends pulled pork.
AH: What is your favorite soda?
MD: Dr. Pepper.
AH: If you could go anywhere on vacation where would you go?
MD: Arizona.
AH: Are you a pizza person?
MD: Yes.
AH: Does pineapple belong on pizza?
MD: It does not.
AH: Do you like to hunt or fish?
MD: Yes.
AH" Which one do you like the most?
MD: Probably hunting.
AH: Are you into NASCAR at all?
MD: A little.
AH: Who would be your favorite driver?
MD: Either Chase Elliott or Ross Chastain.
AH: What was your favorite moment in your racing career so far?
MD: Probably winning my first feature when my cousin was right behind me in second.
