Bark River-Harris girls win U.P. Golf Finals in Division Two
HOUGHTON — Bark River-Harris girls ended their season on the highest of notes last Wednesday after posting a score of 416 enough to take the U.P. Title in Division 3 as they were 12 points better than Cedarville who ended with 428, Hancock came in third with 442, Ironwood was fourth with 449 and Newberry was fifth with 459.
Bark River-Harris sophomore Makayla Hyslop posted a tournament best score of 9. Hyslop had her troubles on the front nine bur resp[onded well on the back nine as she parred four of the nine holes.
The second best effort of the day was Hancock junior Kaelyn Rouleau posted a score of 94. Rouleau also had her best performance of the bay on the back nine as she parred on the 12th hole before making the putt for birdie on the 13th hole.
Cristina Braucher, a sophomore from Ironwood posted the third highest score of the tournament with a 96. Braucher parred four of the last six holes after a very tough start including the par 4 first hole where she needed nine shots to make it.
Cedarville junior Makenna Smith posted a score of 97 and had her best performance of the day on the back nine as she parred 11 and 14.
Blair Maki, a sophomore from Newberry had the fifth best score of the tournament with a 98. Maki parred two of the last three holes on the front nine and parred three of the first five holes on the back nine.
Bark River-Harris sophomore Alana Nault scored a 99 good for sixth place on the day and Dakota Bridges finished in a three-way tie for ninth with a score of 103.
