ESCANABA – The short-handed Mustangs made the hour drive to Escanaba to take on the Eskymos in boys tennis action. Mother Nature had a different story as about 20 minutes into the match the rain fell and did just enough to make the courts unplayable.
“We dont have as much flexibility as the field sports do,” Eskymos coach Alan Adams said. “The painted lines are the first thing we check during rain because they get slick in a hurry and we don’t want to jeopardize the kids safety.”
The Mustangs brought their five player roster and the two teams had almost one set in the books when it was called and the match was canceled and not a match of record.
