Cougars defeat Jets in game one
Mother nature unleashed it fury on second game rainout

HERMANSVILLE — The Superior Central Cougars were on the right side of a 8-2 baseball matchup with North Central here Wednesday.
The Cougars got on the board first in the top of the first inning as Issac Rondeau singled on a line drive to right field and scored as junior Jaycob Dahm came through with an RBI-single. Junior Andrew Charlebois sacrificed himself to the pitcher to score another run and put the Cougars up 2-0.
The Cougars added on to their lead in the top of the second inning as Aiden Korpi singled on a line drive to center field scoring one and Dahm came through with another RBI-single to score another run and extend the Cougars lead to 4-0. Hahm finished the game 3 for 4 with a double and two singles with three runs scored.
The Jets got on the board in the bottom of the third as Nathan Pipkorn had an RBI-single to cut the deficit to 4-1.
The Cougars put up four more runs in the top of the sixth inning to put the game away as Korpi grounded out to score a run and Charlebois singled to score two runs putting the Cougars up 7-1. Charlebois scored on a passed ball to put the Cougars up 8-1.
“We showed signs of improvement,” Jets coach Ben Snyder said. “The guys are buying into what we need them to do and it is showing on the field.”
Dahm earned the win for the Cougars allowing two runs on one hit with seven strikeouts and three walks.
Kaden Malone took the loss allowing six runs on 11 hits with five strikeouts and three walks.
The Cougars return to action Monday as they host North Dickinson in a doubleheader. North Central will play on Saturday in a doubleheader at Norway.
