Gold Medal Classic still producing great action as tournament winds down

HERMANSVILLE — It was another exciting night on the court at the 87th Gold Medal Classic here Monday night as Shelby’s Quick Mart of Carney picked up the Class EE championship defeating Sidetrack of Powers 65-56.
Cody Gholdi was the Most Valuable Player of the tournament in the EE class as well as the leading scorer with 21 points in the title game. Sur Shepard added 15 points and Jake Klieman had 12. Ben Stage led the way for Sidetrack with 11 points.
In the Class D championship, it was LL3J of Carney picking up the win over Dubois Tree Farm 69-55. Reece Casor led the way with 22 points as was named most valuable player in Class D. Austin Carlson added 16 points for LL3J and Joey Pontbriand added 12. Corniellius Steele led the way for Dubois with 18 points and Devin Smitz added 11.
Menominee defeated North Central in junior high boys action. Zander Malone led North Central with 17 points in the loss.
Xcel Graphics of Florence won the Alumni game over Jim’s Plumbing of Stephenson 60-48 after trailing by 10 early in the game. Will Kelley led the way with 29 points and Truth Setner added 10. Owen Keuheau led the way for Jim’s Plumbing with 15 points and Jeff Starzynski added 14.
In the final game of the night it was Advanta Print picking up the win over Got Milk in Class E action. Steve Stemplier led the way for Advanta Print with 19 points and Jed Unrein added 18. Ethan Korpi led the way with 24 points for Got Milk and Noah Gorzinski added 14.
