Sentinels take down Eskymos in boys action
ESCANABA — The Eskymos came out with high energy here Tuesday but it was short-lived as they fell 84-44 to Marquette. The Sentinels led 21-17 after one quarter of play. In the second quarter Marquette outscored Escanaba 22-5 in the second quarter to take a 43-22 lead into the half.
“I think we came out ready to play in the first quarter,” Eskymos coach Jake Berlinski said. “The game fell apart on us after that first quarter, but I have to give credit to Marquette. They have a nice team full of very athletic players and they hit nine three’s tonight which was a turning point in the contest.”
Brody Clements led the way for the Sentinels with 21 points while Conner Feirstine and Halen McCollum each had 16 points on the night.
The Eskymos were led by Taylor Asgaard and Hayven Sandoval-Nolde each scoring 14 points in the contest.
The Eskymos return to action Tuesday as they host Westwood.
