Meet the Athlete: Riley Cretens

ST NICHOLAS – With the boys basketball season past it’s midway point, Daily Press sports writer Adam Hinch got the opportunity to catch up with North Central junior Riley Cretens to discuss a variety of topics.
Adam Hinch: So Riley, when did you get into basketball?
Riley Cretens: My whole family has been into basketball and I picked up my first ball around the age of three but didn’t start playing til I was in third grade.
AH: Do you play any other sports?
RC: Football and I used to play baseball.
AH: Which one is your favorite?
RC: I like basketball more but I had a good season in football so it’s is hard to choose.
AH: What do youn like to do for fun in your spare time?
RC: I like to hang out with my friends go to the gym and spend time with my girlfriend.
AH: Do you like to hunt and fish?
RC: I like to fish sometimes.
AH: What is your favorite kind of music?
RC: I listen to R&B, rap and rock.
AH: What is your favorite subject in school?
RC: I would have to say history, I like learning about the past.
AH: What is your favorite food?
RC: I love a good burger.
AH: What is your favorite soda?
RC: I like Mountain Dew.
AH: You a video gamer?
RC: Yeah I play a lot of Day Z.
AH: What was your favorite basketball moment?
RC: Last season on JV I hit a game-winner against Bark River-Harris.
AH: What is your favorite NBA team?
RC: I like the L.A. Lakers.
AH: What is your favorite NFL team?
EC: I like the Pittsburgh Steelers.
AH: If you could go anywhere on vacation where would you go?
RC: I would like to some country outside the US where it is nice.
