Meet the Athlete: Lonnie Davey

KINGSFORD — After hitting 10 3-pointers against Escanaba to set a new school record Daily Press sports writer Adam Hinch got the opportunity to sit down with Davey and discuss a variety of topics.
Adam Hinch: So Lonnie, when did you first get into basketball?
Lonnie Davey: I started playing basketball in third grade and I have loved it ever since.
AH: What do you like to do in your spare time?
LD: I like to play video games and hang out with friends but I spend a lot of time on the court working on my game so there isn’t a lot of free time available.
AH: What is your favorite kind of music?
LD: I like all kinds of music I can listen to everything from country to rap.
AH: What is your favorite food?
LD: I like a good pasta but cinnamon rolls are my favorite.
AH: What is your favorite subject in school?
LD: I have to say math because it actually challenges me.
AH: Do you plan to continue basketball after high school?
LD: I do that is why I put so much work into my game so that someday that dream could come true.
AH: What do you want to do for a career after basketball?
LD: My dad is an Edward Jones advisor and I hope to be able to take it over from him someday.
AH: If you could go anywhere on vacation where would you go?
LD: I would say Japan to learn about their culture.
AH: What is your favorite basketball moment so far?
LD: the game where I hit 10 3-pointers.
AH: What is your favorite NFL team?
LD: The Detroit Lions.
AH: What is your favorite NBA team?
LD: The Milwaukee Bucks.
